Silver, gold and rose gold, all precious metals and we wear them regularly.
Which is your favorite?
Maybe you have even had your Image Consultation to know which looks BEST on you.
Do you know how silver is made?
Let’s actually look at how silver was originally made . . Have you heard this story before?
The Refiner’s Fire
As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities. The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says: ‘He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver.’ (Malachi 3:3) She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined. The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed. The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, ‘How do you know when the silver is fully refined?’ He smiled at her and answered, ‘Oh, that’s easy — when I see my image in it.’
I’ve seen and heard this story several times before and recently this time it just hit me again.
This codiv-19 pandemic, lock down, disease, loss of jobs, high anxiety, homeschooling (CRISIS schooling -it is NOT the same!), toilet paper hoarding . . . is a FIRE!
God is refining us.
The struggles of life refine us to His image. The challenges of life apply a cleansing heat to pride, bad attitude, and selfishness.
And then I saw this . . . remember the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego (or shady, rack and benny from the veggie tales?)
AH HA mind blown moment!
Ladies, we’re in the fire BUT we’re NOT ALONE!
God is in the fire with us AND we’re going to come out better!
I don’t know about you but being in the middle of the fire doesn’t sound pleasant, actually more like horrible! But being pulled up to our makers face, having people see HIS reflection in us, has got to be the most amazing and yet humbling experience ever!
I want to look like HIM!
So . . . Into the fire I go, who’s coming with me?!
Luv ya friends,
